Graduate and research students working in the area of signal processing are invited to serve as Student Volunteers at IEEE ICASSP 2026, which will take place on May 4-8 at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (Forum) in Barcelona. The event is expected to attract about +7000 delegates from around the world, including R&D, academia, industry and government domains related to the signal processing field.
The benefits of participating are:
- Meet and interact with top professors, researchers, CTOs and engineers from academia and industry in the field.
- Attend state of the art research and industry presentations, workshops and panel discussions (only when you are not on duty).
- Be part of a world class international professional technical event happening in Barcelona.
Your duties will mainly revolve around working with the conference local arrangements committee to ensure that all conference events take place smoothly and on time. For instance,
- Ensuring audiovisual equipment are functioning properly,
- Registering and assisting delegates, speakers and exhibitors, ushering delegates at social events, tearing down and storing furniture or signs, when necessary;
- Preparations for the conference, e.g., packing bags for delegates, will start a few days before the conference.
Each student volunteer will be given two IEEE ICASSP 2026 T-shirts. Complimentary conference registration (not covering accepted paper), meal and transport allowances will be provided on the days of duty. Refreshments or tea breaks will also be available. Volunteers are expected to be punctual and courteous at all times to conference delegates and carry out their assigned duties professionally.
