Transportation
The city provides an extensive and integrated public transport network connecting Barcelona El Prat Airport, CCIB and beyond. Participants are encouraged to use public transport upon arrival to Barcelona El Prat Airport, reaching to CCIB. The Aerobus (A1 or A2) provides a direct connection to Plaça Espanya, with onward access to the CCIB via the metro network. Tickets can be purchased at the airport, transport stations, or online.
Barcelona Travel Card – a Complimentary Option for You
To facilitate access to public transport during the conference, ICASSP 2026 provides a complimentary Travel Card, supporting convenient and lower-impact mobility across the city. The Travel Card is distributed at the CCIB and primarily supports travel within Barcelona and return journey to the airport.
Participants are invited to use the Travel Card as follows:
- Collection: Upon arrival at the CCIB, collect your Travel Card at the registration desk.
- Use during the conference: Use the Travel Card for travel across Barcelona throughout the conference period. The Travel Card is valid for 4 days and includes access to the following services within Zone 1. Participants can navigate the network using supported by tools such as the TMB journey planner.
- Return: If your departure leads to the Barcelona El Prat Airport, you can use the Travel Card on the Metro to get there. Keep in mind that the Aerobus is not covered by the Travel Card.
The Travel Card includes access to the following services within Zone 1:
- Metro: All lines, including Aeroport T1 and T2 (L9 Sud)
- Bus: All intercity bus services
- FGC (the Catalan Government Railways): All lines within Zone 1
- Rodalies (Regional Trains): All trains within Zone 1
- Tram: All tram lines (Trambaix and Trambesòs)
*Note: The Montjuïc Cable Car (Teleférico) and Aerobus are not included.
Active Mobility
In addition to public transport, participants can choose active mobility options. The city is bike-friendly and offers 24/7 access to shared bicycles through operators such as Donkey Republic. Bicycles can be accessed via a mobile application, enabling flexible, short-distance travel within the city.
