Background

The CCIB comprises two buildings of great architectural value: the Convention Centre and the Auditorium CCIB Forum, joined by an underground connecting walkway. With a gross surface area of 100,000 m2 and a capacity for up to 15,000 attendees, both buildings stand out for their size, natural light and the great versatility of their spaces.

Convention Centre

Work of the prestigious Catalan architect Josep Lluís Mateo, the building was conceived to give prominence to light. All the rooms have natural light and the façade was designed to make the smallest possible impact on the environment.

A highly versatile and multi-functional space, with 39 open-plan rooms distributed over 3 floors and 2 mezzanines, among which the large multipurpose room stands out, with its 11,340 m2 that can be divided into 8 different spaces and the Banquet Hall with its incredible sea views.

Auditorium

Designed by the Swiss architects Herzog and DeMeuron, the building is an equilateral triangle connected to the Convention Centre by a 116 m long underground connecting walkway. The Auditorium has a capacity of 3,084 people, 2,341 in stalls and 743 in the balcony, with a stage of 420 m2, interpreting booths and dressing rooms.

With a rough blue façade, it has spacious interiors and rooms designed as hybrid spaces, ideal to host any event and show.

Access and transport to the CCIB

The location of the CCIB allows quick access to the airport and has different means of transport to go to the city centre. The CCIB has four access doors, A, B, C and D and an underground connecting walkway that leads to the Auditorium. In addition, the Auditorium CCIB Forum has direct access from the outside, through Leonardo Da Vinci square.
